01 · Challenge

Passkeys, the developer-first authentication product from Exodus, had to grow from a technical tool into an enterprise platform without losing the developers who made it.

02 · Approach

We gave it a new idea, 'the key to building the future internet', a modernised mark and visual system, and a messaging architecture that is precise without being jargon-heavy.

03 · Outcome

Passkeys now reads as an enterprise standard with a one-tap experience. Exodus reports 400,000+ wallets created in the first month after launch.

01The challenge

The internet we have wasn't built to handle your identity. The next one will be different.

From a developer utility to an enterprise standard

Passkeys is part of Exodus Movement, a NYSE-listed crypto platform with over 5 million users. The product had real technical depth, but its brand had to shift from a niche developer utility to an authentication standard that enterprises could adopt at scale.

The audience is technically sophisticated: developers, enterprise infrastructure teams, engineers and product architects. They notice hype immediately. The risk was that sounding enterprise would cost the trust the product earned among developers, so the repositioning had to raise ambition without raising the volume.

Brand idea

The key to building the future internet.

Positioning

Passkeys gives developers the tools, users the access and products the engine to make authentication work the way it always should have: simple, secure and yours.

03Identity

A mark, a system and a one-tap feel

The identity modernises the logomark and pairs it with a custom type hierarchy, high-contrast dark-mode interfaces and soft lilac-to-pink gradients. Hardware and digital interaction motifs make a technical idea feel physical and simple, which suits a product whose promise is a single tap. Dark interfaces keep it at home in a developer's working environment, and the soft gradients add warmth.

04Messaging

Messaging that speaks like the people who read it

We defined the core value pillars, the product narrative, the documentation voice and the enterprise sales positioning, so the same voice runs from the homepage to the docs to a sales deck. Every line aims to be easy to say and easy to believe.

  1. 01

    The one-tap pass

'The one-tap pass for the modern web.' The promise in a single line.

  2. 02

    Elegantly simple

'An intuitive experience that's elegantly simple.' Depth underneath, calm on top.

  3. 03

    Eliminate passwords

'Simplify login. Eliminate passwords.' The practical benefit, stated plainly.

05In use

The brand in the wallet

The same system carries into the product: wallet balances, sending and marketplace views that stay simple at the tap.
